Camesha & Justin

It was a pleasure to meet and photograph Camesha & Justin at their beautiful wedding on June 14, 2008. The weather was a perfect picture day, deep blue sky and bright sun at a high of 91 degrees. However, the wedding was inside the Historic First Congregational Church of Detroit located near Downtown Detroit. The Church was absolutely gorgeous and the detail art work was magnificence. Check out the overview shot below:

We stop over at the DIA for the Bridal Party group photo and then headed out to the lavishness Iroquois Club in Bloomfield Hills, MI.

Connie Porter-Author of Addy Walker

I had the pleasure to photograph Ms Connie Porter at the Main Detroit Public Library, Old Fine Arts.

Bio:

Connie Porter, author of all six books about Addy Walker in the American Girls Collection, knows a lot about family. Sold more than 3 million copies to date. She has written two adult novels, All Bright Court and Imani All Mine. All-Bright Court was selected by the American Library Association as one of the Best Books of 1991. After all, she is the eighth of nine children. She blends a love of history and her talent for writing about family relationships to bring Addy to life in the time of the Civil War.

The event included a tea party for the young girls and their family, Ms Connie Porter speaking engagement, and the book signing afterwards. It was a fun 2 hours of getting to know the author and lots of prizes give aways. The ultimate prize was the American Doll (See the winner below).

Big Bay, Michigan

We had a blast in a small town called Big Bay, MI. Big Bay is located in the upper peninsula right above the state of Wisconsin and 25 miles from Marquette, MI the home of Northern Michigan University. We spent 1 day and learned plenty from the locals and the history of Big Bay and surrounding areas. First, the water falls were absolutely beautiful and climbing through the woods was an experience. Our tour guy, Adrian, was a young cool guy and been hiking through these trails since a young boy. He is only in his early twenties and knows the area very well.

"Thanks Adrian, for the yummy peanut butter and organic veggies!"

Also, I wanted to give a special thanks to Nancy! She is a very hospitality person and appreciate the last minute stay at your hotel - Big Bay Depot. She also gave us a tour at the Lighthouse and a history lesson on how the lighthouse became a well know Bed & Breakfast. This unique bed & breakfast is one of the few surviving resident lighthouses in the country. Check out the link for further information on the Big Bay Point Lighthouse.
