Connie Porter-Author of Addy Walker
Bio:
Connie Porter, author of all six books about Addy Walker in the American Girls Collection, knows a lot about family. Sold more than 3 million copies to date. She has written two adult novels, All Bright Court and Imani All Mine. All-Bright Court was selected by the American Library Association as one of the Best Books of 1991. After all, she is the eighth of nine children. She blends a love of history and her talent for writing about family relationships to bring Addy to life in the time of the Civil War.
The event included a tea party for the young girls and their family, Ms Connie Porter speaking engagement, and the book signing afterwards. It was a fun 2 hours of getting to know the author and lots of prizes give aways. The ultimate prize was the American Doll (See the winner below).

Big Bay, Michigan
"Thanks Adrian, for the yummy peanut butter and organic veggies!"
Also, I wanted to give a special thanks to Nancy! She is a very hospitality person and appreciate the last minute stay at your hotel - Big Bay Depot. She also gave us a tour at the Lighthouse and a history lesson on how the lighthouse became a well know Bed & Breakfast. This unique bed & breakfast is one of the few surviving resident lighthouses in the country. Check out the link for further information on the Big Bay Point Lighthouse.
